Policy Focus Areas

Technical skills, education and training

The technical workforce faces a significant skills gap, with an aging population whilst responding to rapidly evolving technologies. More action is needed to inspire and attract a new generation of technical talent.

Our research findings provide policy expertise to create solutions that support the sector to address these challenges.

Technical careers in Higher Education and Research

We actively engage with UK Government’s current activities and emerging policies pertaining to technical skills, roles and careers within the higher education, research and innovation sector.

Culture change

We work in partnership with stakeholders across the sector to further embed positive culture change pioneered by the Technician Commitment.
