The X-ray facility is based in the School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield and specialises in X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). We can perform XRD on powders and solid samples, in either reflection or transmission geometry, we have Cu, Mo and Ag X-ray sources, a 1000C furnace, grazing incidence and reflectivity setups and capillary sample holders.
