Robotic Welding and Directed Energy Deposition System

Home » Showcase » Robotic Welding and Directed Energy Deposition System

The Robotic Welding and Directed Energy Deposition System integrates two KUKA robots (KR 20 and KR 70) with Fronius welding systems. It supports multiple arc heat sources, including MIG with Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) and Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA), using cold-wire or powder deposition. This flexible setup enables applications such as printing, joining, and cladding thin-section components.

The facility also features advanced monitoring tools: a high-speed infrared camera (FLIR X6801sc) for temperature measurement, a Micro-Epsilon laser scanner for positioning and geometry, and a CAVILUX welding camera for real-time process observation.
