The Faculty of Science & Engineering – Mass Spectrometry & Separations Facility (MS&SEP) is a core facility supporting research and teaching across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. In addition we support research from wider UoM researchers from the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health. We also support external collaborations and provide analytical services to external customers. We are a team of 13 research technical professionals and are sited across two sites; the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology & The Department of Chemistry. We operate using a dual model: Service led or user led with training and support. Service led MS provisions are available primarily for routine accurate mass (ESI, APCI, ASAP), MALDI-MS, GC-MS and protein ID.
