The Edinburgh Genome Foundry is a research facility specialising in the high-throughput modular assembly and phenotyping of DNA constructs. We support scientists working with organisms varying from viruses, microalgae, yeast and bacteria to plants and mammals. We work (together with our robots and bespoke industry-grade software) on diverse projects such as cell and gene therapies, programming of stem cells for personalised medicine, cell-line development to produce biologics and antibody discovery against viral diseases. Other projects include enzyme development for use in detergents and valorisation of waste such as Li-Ion batteries for metal reclamation and plastic to produce high-value chemicals.
