How are your courses different to what my current institution or other training providers offer?
Unlike many other training and development programmes, our courses are designed specifically for technical professionals, recognising the critical role they play in teaching and research within universities and research institutes.
Our expert-led courses will give you practical skills, fresh insights, and valuable opportunities to connect with other technical professionals from across the sector. And – we’re trusted by more than 2000 technicians from 150 UK organisations.
Course content is rooted in the technical workplace; this is what differentiates it from other project management courses. The tools, language and discussions are all tailored to technicians. The case studies all come from technical workplaces and the guest speakers are technicians who have previously come on the course.

Why are course fees being introduced?
We are piloting new paid-for courses in 2026 to explore ways to support long-term career development and sustainability of the technical workforce.
We recognise these courses may not be accessible to everyone, which is why our popular Festivals of Learning, group career coaching, mentoring and course taster sessions will remain open to UK technical professionals in higher education and research at no cost.
